History In Service
|
Reclassified after Sept 1979. SGX (AOCX) are identical to the ELX (AOBX) except that they have ribbed ends. Some of these wagons were transferred to the slab steel transport from Whyalla and were recoded to AKOX in 1988. Further reclassification occurred in 1989 to AKCX. These wagons typically had their doors removed. ELX wagons as well as SGX wagons were given the classification (AKOX) for about a year before both were recoded to new codes. The SGX – AOCX –AKOX – AKCX. The ELX – AOBX – AKOX – AKBX.
