The Composite Goods Brake Van was used mainly on goods trains for the transportation of goods, parcels, mail, departmental goods and passengers in second class accommodation which was non-smoking. Built from the 1890’s through to 1920 they survived into the 1960’s. They were originally painted regal red, which faded to brown.
