Wagon Colours - STC

 Silverton Tramways Corporation

Silverton Tramways, in the early days had a distincive faded red/pick colour to the wagons. This distinguished them from the SAR rolling stock. The colour was a Floquil Zinc Chromate in its pristine condition but faded to become a Humbrol 73 in colour.

The passenger stock was the same colour as the SAR narrow gauge stock as much of it was leased from the SAR.

The early diesel locomotives were painted a bright red with white stripping, a Humbrol 19 would do for this. Later, after standardisation, they adopted a yellow and blue colour scheme. Use Humbrol 25 for the blue and Humbrol 71 for the yellow (with a few drops of 69).
