History in Service :       An open steel sided wagon derived from the GY and now used for general traffic, primarily as the doors do not seal. Many former GY wagons were modified to GH (If the doors were a good seal) or to G (Damaged doors). The G wagons had a brown stripe painted across the end of the wagon if already painted yellow, or was painted completely wagon red.
