History in Service :       Wooden open wagons for carting Broken Hill ore operated by both the SAR and the Silverton Tramway Co. In 1940 30 ON wagons were converted to flat cars at the Army’s request. Bogies centers started off at 11’3”, was moved out to 12’3” and finally to 14’3”, which resulted in significantly less derailments. In 1956/7 15 FNT Flat cars were converted to ON and 3 FNS flats were also converted to ON.
