History in Service :         Open wagon used for the cartage of lead concentrate ore, and on occasions other bulk materials. Used  mostly in ore traffic initially on the narrow gauge and latter converted to standard gauge. The conversion lifted their capacity from 35 tons to 55 tons by the extension of the chassis and the addition of an extra panel. At the time of conversion they were designated SOC wagons, the SO being purpose built new wagons.
