History in Service : 503 Y wagons were built until March 1911. Later most were converted to narrow gauge and moved to Port Lincoln Division. In 1913 a new group were constructed and classed as YY. Some of the YY were also converted to narrow gauge. Those transferred to the narrow gauge lines were reclassified to YX.
