History in Service :             A 40’ open gondola style wagon which had a wooden end and doors fitted to a trussed wagon under frame. They were introduced to service in 1914 and 1915 as Ww wagons. In 1920 these wagons had there ends removed and they were then coded WWX. In 1933 they were converted to auto couplers and were recoded to WA until the whole class was converted at which time they were all recoded to W. In 1979 the remaining 20 wagons were recoded to AOWA.
