History in Service :         A large covered van constructed specifically for bogie exchange duties. At least two different builds have given rise to two significantly different ends. In 1975 some ALGX vans were converted to ALPY. Initially van numbers 57 to 79 were converted to SLP. Recoded to ALGX after Sept 1979.
