History in Service :       A 36ft Cattle wagon issued to service in 1928. This was one of many wagons introduced in the Webb rehabilitation of the railways. During service the C cattle wagons were slowly updated to CS cattle wagons and given new numbers starting at 1. The upgrade mostly involved the change over of bogies from an archbar style to a bettendorf style, but also included some changes to number boards. In 1965 a few cattle wagons were converted to FC flat cars. About 20 C wagons were also converted to box cars and were sealed and lined and given the code MC, these vans retained their original number.
